Who we are

Soafied was founded to address services and the content of services in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). The initial purpose was to take legacy data and turn it into something useable in a SOA environment, hence the name SOA-fied. Founded in 2007 Soafied has continuously evolved to be the full technical arm of Kay-Consulting providing products, services and the IT infrastructure.

During this time, social networking and the wealth of Web 2.0 services out there "in the cloud" started to facilitate a very cost effective bottom up approach to the age old challenge of interoperability, albeit it at the begging for bloggers and private users. However many small-medium business and local governments departments soon started to see the benefit as well as the service providers. Now this new revolution in computing is becoming manifest as it move into the enterprise and national government departments.

The team at Soafied is constantly on top of new developments, tools, standards and products and maintains a barrage of test and development environments so that it can instantly provide value to clients. By configuring commercial off the shelf web 2.0 products, open source offerings and providing it's own gap filling technology and content, Soafied gets results fast.

GIS Client

Based on the OpenLayers API we've produced a widgetised dojo GIS Client, which asside the basic functionality like switching baselayers, changing overlays, draw and manipulate points, currently also implements a GeoRss Browser and a WMS Browser.
